What is Elefly all about?

Elefly was born from a discussion in a Discord group chat, as a few artists wrestled with their frustrations over the way the internet treats the artistic community. Art is everywhere and consumed constantly; this has numbed the appreciation of it, and by extent, lowered respect for those who create it. Even in current times it is common place to see discourse claiming that; digital art is 'easy', 3d modeling is 'lazy', or painting is 'antiquated' and a 'waste of time' visit photos are so much easier to produce and print, while conversely--photographers 'charge too much for the press of a button'. Artists are chronically underappreciated and frequently underpriced.

we hope Elefly sparks the beginning of a new era for artists, but more than anything Elefly should provide a safe and encouraging environment for its users.

What is Elefly all about?

aleph (founding number): The image of a left facing illustration of a elephant with a hummingbird wing for an ear, cape to ne when I was planning on starting an organic makeup company with my sister. I thought Elefly was the perfect whimsical name for a company that was founded on being environmentally friendly and safe for sensitive skin. since my sister and I love hummingbirds and elephants respectively. It was a symbol intended to merge our 'aesthetics' so to speak.

We abandoned the idea. but later on when I was looking for a net personal signature for my art, I repurposed the 'Elefly' idea for my own use. My parents have used the nicknames 'Elephant' and 'Butterfly' for me since I was little, so the branding is very Personal to fly identity as a creator. I told my mother my dream of starting a website that would bring all artists together and she insisted that my Elefly logo was perfect for the website.

My personal connection aside. I feel that elephants perfectly embody the gentle fortitude and resilience it takes to develop one's creative abilities. (And elephants have been known to paint!) while butterflies are a symbol of creative freedom and whimsical, impulsive beauty.
